The 25th Anniversary of the Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst and the 60th Anniversary of Donemus

General

On October 7th, the Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst as well as Donemus will celebrate anniversaries, respectively 25 and 60 years. At the same time, both are about to merge into larger institutions.  This is not a swansong, it is a joyous event to celebrate that thanks to both organisations, hundreds of pieces of music have been presented to the public.
Three anniversary concerts will show you fine representative examples, even though they represents but a fractionof the richly filled treasure trove of Dutch composition.

13:00 Main Hall, a real family concert by the Schönberg Ensemble o.l.v. Hans Leenders and Pianoduo Post en Mulder with pieces that have been heard by six thousand children.

15:00 BAM hall, a film on composing
Director Ellen Blom and camera man Marcel Prins filmed three composers,
Huba de Graaff, Guus Janssen and Klas Torstensson, during the creative process of their work, from the first sketches on paper to the presentation at a concert.

16.00 Grote Zaal, The Doelen Ensemble and Calefax perform
Lunapark by Sander Germanus, the Volharding performs Y despues
by Louis Andriessen, with Cristina Zavaloni as vocal soloist, and
De hondenmepper by Misha Mengelberg.

The Asko Ensemble will round off the concert with Self-portait with percussion
by Klas Torstensson, with percussion virtuoso, Peppie Wiersma in the leading role.

In the interval (ca. 16.45 ) there will be a second showing of the film in the BAM hall

18.00 Foyerdeck 1, reception
After the celebratory (approx. 19.00) there will be a third showing of the film in the BAM hall

21.00 Bimhuis, a performance by the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, with Guus Janssen, Martin Fondse, Franky Douglas and Theo Loevendie as solo artists, among others.
